How to join a course

Beginners language courses

It is possible to enrol onto a Beginners language course from Monday 3 July 2017.

You can do this in a number of ways -

  • In person at Brasshouse Languages, Library of Birmingham, 1st Floor, between 10:00 and 16:30, Monday to Friday.
  • Call our Information Line on 0121 303 4318
  • Go online at

Higher level language courses

If you are a current Brasshouse Languages learner continuing with your studies and know the level you wish to join, you may enrol in person at the centre 10:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday throughout the summer. Alternatively you can call the Information Line on 0121 303 4318 and they will enrol you over the phone.

Enrolment week at Brasshouse Languages 

If you would prefer to meet the tutor before enrolling onto a course come along on the day and at the time of the lesson listed in this programme, week commencing Monday 18 September 2017. Tutors will be available to provide information about the courses and help you to find one at the right level for you.

Information and Enrolment Sessions: w/c Monday 18 September 2017

Monday - Thursday 10:30 - 19:30, Friday 10:30 - 17:30  and Saturday 10:00 - 12:00

Course fees - how much will it cost

These depend on the type of course you want to do, how long it runs and your personal circumstances. To find out more about whether you are able to get a fee discount or concession please contact the centre or our Information Line on 0121 303 4318.

Exam Fees

Please note that the following courses are accredited (ABC Awards) and a £20 exam fee will be added to the course fee listed in this programme.

Languages: French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
Levels: Beginners Plus, Improvers and Improvers Plus.
